GM replaces top brass of Cadillac to speed company’s rebuilding program

The days of Johan de Nysschen as the head of General Motors Cadillac brand is now officially over after four years.

GM decided to replace Nysschen, 58 in order to speed up the auto maker’s rebuilding plans.

Nysschen who became famous for helping Volkswagen AG’s VOW, -0.59% Audi brand gain U.S. prominence a decade ago, will be replaced by Steve Carlisle, a 55-year-old GM veteran.

Prior to his new appointment, Carlisle served as the official running the auto maker’s Canadian business.

Sources said the replacement of the official was triggered after Cadillac has lost U.S. market share every year since de Nysschen’s arrival in September 2014.

GM President Dan Ammann thanked Nysschen for the services he had rendered to the company.
