Japan’s most popular messaging application Line’s mobile platform sub-organization, Line Plus, is launching a blockchain initiative -Unchain – jointly with the crypto platform ICON .
At the beginning of April , Line plus had also introduced Unblock in South Korea to integrate blockchain technology into Line’s inter-market system. Line is subsidiary company of South Korean search engine giant Naver , but Line is located in Tokyo to not to compete with Cocoa.
Unchain will Work with Unblock
Line emphasized that Unchain will work with Unblock to bring Line’s blockchain home network and the decentralized applications in the network together using ICON’s blockchain technology. During the press release of ICON’S Hong-kyu Lee, who will also assume the role of CEO of Unchain, he said;
“We expect to promote an array of blockchain-based dApp services for daily use. The rise of these services is expected to catalyze the growth of LINE and the ICON blockchain ecosystem.”
ICON is currently 19th on the Coinmarketcap, with the $ 3.77 unit price of the coin.
Towards the end of March, LINE’s competitor Kakao officially announced their blockchain subsidiaries as part of the Kakao 3.0 business plan.
