The welcome sign is out for Bitcoin, and not just among investors. All told, you can now buy just about anything with bitcoins. Should you choose to part with them, that is.
According to CNet, here are 28 of the most surprising things that’ll tempt your digital wallet. Some are extraordinary, and some are extraordinarily ordinary.
After an initial flurry of interest among merchants in accepting bitcoin in their retail or online stores, interest has largely died down as increasing bitcoin transaction fees and volatile price movements made it less attractive as a means of exchange
That doesn’t mean that there are no outlets to spend your bitcoin, however, far from it. It’s just that bitcoin volumes at these outlets has generally not met expectations, and by the time you read this, some may have discontinued that option.
At time of writing, however, you can still buy a wide range of goods and services with the cryptocurrency. Among the advantages of doing so are the ease of cross-border transactions, and anonymity (unless you want physical delivery, of course). By accepting bitcoin, merchants get access to a broader market, and don’t have to worry so much about chargebacks (where the buyers cancels the payment after receiving the product).
Mavericks tickets
Bitcoin-skeptic-turned-backer Mark Cuban has told CoinDesk that his NBA franchise, the Dallas Mavericks, will allow payments in Bitcoin, Ethereum and “possibly some other currencies” starting in the 2018-2019 season.
Lap dances
The Las Vegas gentlemen’s club known as the Legends Room accepts bitcoins and anything else traded on the Bittrex exchange as payment for all the club has to offer, from beverages to lap dances.
If you leave your digital wallet at home, so to speak, the club’s Bitcoin ATMs will help you out.
A Brazilian butt lift
The Manhattan-based plastic-surgery practice bodySCULPT says it’s the first in the Big Apple to accept bitcoins for the aforementioned posterior procedure, and all of its other services, including liposuction.
Whoppers
When the Burger King in Arnhem, Netherlands, went started accepting bitcoins in 2016, it went all-in, and offered one free Whopper for every Whopper purchased with the digital currency.
Oscar vote counters
If you’ve got big numbers that need to be crunched, or perhaps Oscar votes that need to be counted, then you’ll be pleased to know the global accounting giant PricewaterhouseCoopers accepted its first Bitcoin payment in late 2017.
Funerals
Should you find yourself and your bitcoins in St. Paul, Minn., and in need of a casket, then you’re in luck: Crescent Tide Funeral & Cremation is there for both of you (with a 3 percent discount, no less).
Guns
Central Texas Gun Works pioneered bitcoin purchases among Texas firearms dealers in 2014. The Austin-based store accepts bitcoins for online and in-store sales.
Rolex watches
It was only a matter of time until Bitcoin made its way into the luxury goods market. The online luxury-watch retailer JavyEstrella.com has opened its marketplace to the digital currency.
Mattresses
Fifteen minutes after the online mattress retailer GhostBed began accepting bitcoins, its CEO says it processed its first bitcoin sale. A good night’s sleep is, of course, priceless.
Headlights
In 2017, the Florida-based, online auto-headlights store Uzooka.com announced it was accepting bitcoins.
Just about everything in Japan
Bitcoin acceptance is soaring in the land of the rising sun. Among the recent converts is Bic Camera, Japan’s largest electronics retailer.
Cheese fries
From the starters to the sandwiches, all the menu items at the Great Lost Bear in Portland, Maine, can be had for cash, credit cards or bitcoin. “Sorry, no personal checks,” the menu notes.
Beer
The best news for Bitcoin enthusiasts may be that pubs were among the earliest adopters and most ardent supporters of the currency. The historic Old Fitzroy in Sydney, for instance, became Australia’s first Bitcoin-friendly bar in 2013.
Vegas, baby
In 2014, the D Las Vegas and its sister property, the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, made Sin City history by accepting bitcoins at front desks, restaurants and gift shops.
A ‘gorgeous residential sanctuary’
There are some awesome-looking properties showcased on Bitcoin Real Estate. One favorite: the eight-bedroom, six-living-room, seven-bathroom Australian abode recently on the market for the Bitcoin equivalent of $3.5 million.

In 2016, Mason Borda, now the CEO of the cryptocurrency security firm TokenSoft, said he preordered the pride of Elon Musk’s garage with bitcoins.
Meatball-marinara sandwiches
In 2013, a Pennsylvania businessman made news for opening up his Allentown-based Subway to bitcoin sales.
Vacuum cleaners
No, there is literally nothing you can’t buy with bitcoins on Overstock.com. Compact uprights stand as further testament to the retail giant’s commitment to cryptocurrencies.
Taxi rides
If you’re in places like Argentina and Hungary, you can hop into a Bitcoin-friendly cab.
Gold
At JM Bullion, you can use bitcoin to purchase gold coins and other precious metals or — to put it another way — you can use currency to buy currency.

Online travel-booking sites such as Expedia and CheapAir.com accept bitcoins.
Airplane tickets to Latvia
A special shout-out is in order for airBaltic, not because it flies to Latvia (and other parts of Europe and the Middle East), but because in 2014 it became the first airline in the world to accept bitcoins for those flights.
Espresso
Like pubs, coffee bars love them some bitcoin. In the Czech Republic’s capital Prague, in fact, Bitcoin Coffee only accepts the digital currency.
Alternative comics
In 2014, L.A.s’ Meltdown Comics claimed the honor of being the first brick-and-mortar comic-book shop to accept bitcoin for in-store purchases.

It’s decentralized, it’s peer-to-peer, only 21 million will ever exist. By now, you’ve probably heard the Bitcoin low-down enough times to pitch the idea to friends, family, and everyone else you know.
While some say it’s digital gold, it’s no secret that Bitcoin’s volatility and slow, expensive transactions have held the coin back from wide adoption as a payment method.
