Google now offers chat feature for Indian payments app Tez Mobile

How about paying your bill online and messaging your contact at the same time; sounds very cool right?

According to reports, Google has added chat features to its payment app in India.

Google has decided to add chat features to its Tez mobile money app to get more foothold of its customers in India.

Tez was launched in September in India and it uses India’s Unified Payments Interface to enable smart phone users to send money to each other and pay for goods and services both offline and online.

Since it was launched last year the app already has 15 million registered users and it could grow even more with the added chat feature.

The latest move is a welcome development since messaging and payments has become an in thing in India these days.

The latest data shows WhatsApp is set to open a UPI-based payments service for its 200 million-plus users in the country, while mobile wallet giant Paytm recently added a chat feature and messaging service
