The rumoured ‘partnership’ between the decentralized internet project TRON (TRX) and China’s biggest internet search provider Baidu is all about cloud computing services, and not blockchain. This is according to a report released by ODaily on October 15, 2018.
The Details of the Report
The report, as quoted and translated by the local cryptocurrency news source CNLedger, suggests that Baidu Cloud and TRON have come into agreement regarding “basic cloud business.” Both companies will team up to maximize inter-compatibility and “to develop, operate and debug blockchain products” based on Baidu Cloud.
Nevertheless, the report maintains that the collaboration focusses on the acquisition and application of Baidu’s key cloud computing resources, rather than acting as a link “at the blockchain business level.”
Besides, ODaily further states that Baidu intends to launch its “Blockchain Commercialization Super Partner Plan v1.0,” which allegedly exploits tech exploration and income sharing with “commercial super associates” to develop a blockchain protocol, which is “mutually valuable.”
Baidu’s September White Paper
As earlier stated, Baidu released a White Paper based on the creation of its ‘super Chain’ network system in the last week of September this year. The White Paper presented the concept of commercializing the Baidu cloud blockchain BaaS platform.
The ODaily news seems to add extra details- though remarkably not yet formally confirmed- to last week’s rumours concerning an upcoming TRON-Baidu collaboration, highlighting private communication with the TRON officials by then.
The Impact of the Partnership
Despite the alleged collaboration being less than perfect for TRX investors and the broad crypto world in exploiting the multi-billion project of search engine services, it does depict another admired partnership that TRON has been able to attain.
After the purchase of BitTorrent, which is intended for incorporation into TRON’s website via the formerly released Atlas Project initiative, TRX continues to acquire momentum via its agenda to create an resourceful network, one that will accommodate the services of Baidu’s cloud computing in the coming weeks.
